What they are:
Paws Pet Doors has developed an innovative and cost effective solution to the problem of patio pet doors when you have security or glass sliding doors.
Great for people renting, no alterations, just unscrew and remove when you leave. Tenant and Landlord couldn’t be happier.
Retaining the same opening space, maintains security and with no costly alterations.
The Patio Pet Door Insert is simply screwed into place, the existing door slides and locks giving you all you need. Easy to install, easy to remove.
The Panel is hinged to allow for the same door opening you enjoyed before. It can be hung left hand or right hand and even fitted to sliding doors that meet in the middle.
Our range of Pet Door Patio Inserts come in three different types (security grill & mesh, polycarbonate and stainless steel security grill mesh), three sizes (small, medium & large) and a wide range of colours for the frames to match your existing doors. We can also accommodate special requests for other colours of your choice (extra charge to be applied).
Plus we can supply 4 ml toughened glass in lieu of Perspex. Price on application.
Simply the best Pet Door solution for sliding doors on the market. Total portability, attractive, effective and competitively priced.
How they are made:
All of our inserts are made from the same type of aluminium security door frame and 7mm diamond grill that you would have in your existing security doors, allowing the patio insert to match and blend in seamlessly.
Polycarbonate is what we use because of its extreme durability and resistance to harsh conditions, especially when compared to glass.
Glass can be easily broken and damaged, causing a potentially hazardous situation. Polycarbonate is also not susceptible to yellowing or hazing due to sunlight like Perspex is.
The impact Resistance of Polycarbonate is considered almost unbreakable, giving it a very clear advantage over glass in safety. It can withstand extreme force during burglaries and harsh weather.
For security purposes, polycarbonate sheeting protects much better against burglaries because of it’s unbreakable properties. Compared to safety glass, polycarbonate is 250 times more resistant to impact, not only protecting valuables inside but also reducing the risk of injury due to broken glass.

How to size up your pet:
Measuring your pet’s height correctly is crucial in ensuring you purchase a flap that your pet can comfortably use their entire life.
You need to keep in mind how high off the ground the dog door will be installed, this space between the ground and the bottom of the flap is called the Step Over.
The Step Over should be as low as possible for your dog to go through comfortably, as your pet gets older they may begin to find it difficult to get through a door with a high Step Over.
To Measure Your Pet’s Height:
Stand your pet up straight.
Locate the tallest point on your pets back, this is below the neck, between the shoulder blades (also known as withers). Measure the dog’s height from the floor to this point.
We suggest the best way to see which size Paws Pet Door is suitable for your pet is to cut the dimensions of the flap opening out of a piece of cardboard and see which size your pet is most comfortable going through.
How to measure your door:
Once you have decided weather you want your insert to go onto the glass door or the security screen door.
Measure from the lowest point at the top, to the top of the highest point at the bottom.
And, from the inside when you slide the door to close it, does it slide left to close or right to close?

Installation
These Instructions are for the standard single catch security door locks, but can be easily adapted for other types of door locking systems.
Simple to install, all that’s required is common sense, a screwdriver (hand or power) and a bit of patience. If, like me, you don’t fit into that category, or are too busy or simply prefer a professional to do it, we can arrange an installer. Cost of installer is not included in the price.
Instructions for installing a Paws Patio Pet Door Panel/Insert
- Remove parrot tooth from channel of door frame and place it in the lock on the sliding door with a screw in the parrot tooth to mark the new position for the tooth to lock onto the sliding door.
- Take the pet door panel, place it hinge side into the channel of the door frame, adjust it up and down so it swings freely, then screw into position (screws supplied).
- Close the pet door panel and bring the sliding door across to mark the position of the parrot tooth to be screwed into the Panel Insert to allow the sliding door to be locked to the Panel Insert.
- Close the sliding door to the pet door panel to make sure it locks. If it doesn’t, you will need to adjust the height of the parrot tooth; this is easily done when putting in the second screw.

We suggest the best way to see which size Paws Pet Door is suitable for your pet is to cut the dimensions of the flap opening out of a piece of cardboard and see which size your pet is most comfortable going through.
